The Enhanced Access Service provides patients with additional access to GP and nursing appointments outside of standard practice opening hours. Appointments are available Monday to Friday until 8:00pm and on Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
The service is available to patients registered with practices within the following Primary Care Networks (PCNs):
- Newcastle Central
- Newcastle South
- Newcastle North
- Moorlands Rural
- HIPC
- Shelton and Hanley
- South Stoke West
- South Stoke Central
- Leek and Biddulph
Appointments are delivered across North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, with a location available within each PCN area to ensure convenient access for patients.
The service is an extension of the registered GP Practice, with sessions primarily provided by GPs and Nurses from local member practices. The clinicians are able to request blood tests, x-rays, etc and make referrals to the hospital in exactly the same way as if a patient was being seen in the GP Practice.
